Phone: not mandatory but if web hosting people like to communicate they may need it. No formal signature like thing is required or no photocopy of the documents are required.
after buying the domain, username and password are sent. Username is usually the email. After logging into domain control panel one may change it as he likes.
Write down the domain name in the domain field and press enter.Now different things related to domain name could be done.
For web hosting separate control panel is used. The common one is Cpanel.Its username and password would be different than domain one. After entering one may select Softaculous for one click wordpress installation. It comes near software other thing. After entering select wordpress. During installation it would ask the domain name. Also it asks whether you would like to put www before the domain. https is encryption for financial transaction, so usually that is not the case for general site owners.Keep directory blank so that it is installed in the domain name directory. If you put any directory then it would appear in the final website different pages url.
Select a theme, give a name, tagline that's it. Click install and it would take around 5 minutes.

In wordpress, the default homepage or frontpage comes up as blog. There is no home page layout formatting option in wordpress. So one needs to create a page and in the setting>reading select a static page as the frontpage.

In the wordpress software logo option is not there(In wordpress.com, when you create free blog or website, they give logo option just after name and tag). To do so you may have to edit some code as mentioned here.

Give a name to your menu like Main. I reckon several menu may be created and you may use one.
In the menu structure, drag to position one below or front and for submenu put one inside the parent one.
While you create page, you may select a parent page. Order 0 means parent page, the subsequent pages could be numbered as order 1, 2, 3 etc.
