Men's gaze and Men's Hijab in Islam

mens gaze or Men's Hizab Hijab
try and avoid going to places where there will be sights we should not see, if we are able to. For example, if there is no need to go to the mall, it is best to avoid going there in the first place.

However, there are instances where that is impractical, like being in a workplace with non-Muslims, for example. Some of them might be wearing clothes that are not particularly modest. You cannot avoid the place you work in. So, what do you do? In such a situation, we should avoid their unnecessary company whenever possible (e.g. during lunch breaks).

http://aboutislam.net/counseling/ask-about-islam/lower-gaze-talking-women/
Assalamu Alaikum, I want to ask about the dressing style of women. I am from India. Here, Sarees and Churidas are the traditional dresses of women. In this dressing style, the dresses doesn't cover the arms and neck completely. According to Islamic tradition the neck and arms are parts of a women’s Awrah. If I have to talk to a woman in my company, I have to look at the woman. So sometimes when I looking at the woman, my look falls to their arms and neck accidentally. Is this a sin? None can talk to someone without looking at them. When I ask this question to someone, they said to lower your gaze. How can I do it. Because everyone has to look at the others to talk. What can I do?

You will have to learn to maneuver your gaze whilst women are talking to you, and while you are talking to them. This is the only tool that a Muslim man has at his disposal, which he can effectively put between himself and all non-mahrum women, because unfortunately, the majority of the women in the world today do not observe adequate Shari` hijab.

Many practicing Muslim men, especially those in leadership positions such as shuyookh and imams, talk to women, but they do so in such a manner that even though the lady is standing right in front of them, they do not look at her directly.

Or at the very least, they only look at her intermittently during the conversation, in order to make her feel respectfully engaged, but they do so whilst regularly breaking off eye contact with her and averting their gaze.

The way to do that is to direct your eyes towards the woman’s side, the floor, or behind her in the distance, so that even though she is right in front of you and addressing you, you do not look at her face or any body part directly or intently.

With practice, men can get better at talking to women normally and with dignity, but with their gaze averted away from the women’s physical form entirely.

Even though the lack of eye contact might seem to be a barrier to your communication with women in the beginning, over time, insha’Allah, you will get the hang of it and master the skill, with Allah’s help.

Just imagine this: blind people talk to others too, don’t they? They are able to verbally get their point across without needing to look at their addressee whilst talking.

Their addressees also interprets what they are saying without the need to have direct eye contact.

You could also communicate with female colleagues more in writing than in person, and attend meetings whilst avoiding sitting face-to-face with women.

indoor walking exercise

indoor walking exercise

An example of an indoor circuit would be:

Walk to kitchen and do 10 push ups against the counter.
Walk to the living room and do 10 squats to couch.
Walk to the bedroom and do 10 crunches on the bed.
Walk to the front door and do 10 jumping jacks.
Walk around the house a few times, and then start the circuit again.
https://www.fitwatch.com/blog/6-great-tips-for-walking-indoors-in-the-winter

Both high and moderate intensity walking has been proven to be just as beneficial as any aerobic fitness workout. Low intensity walking describes walking at 45-55% of your highest heart rate, and you would need to walk 5-7 days each week for best results. But, if you walk at a high intensity

level, which would be 65-75% of highest heart rate, you can achieve the same results in as little as 3 days a week.

Regular walking can lower the risk for many diseases, like cancer, diabetes and glaucoma.
It has been proven that those who walk regularly live longer than those who lead less active lives.
Moderate intensity walking is believed to boost your immune system. This is another reason that walking is so important in winter!

Uber-like app HandyHome that connects users with brands’ authorised service centers.
https://www.techinasia.com/india-handyhomes-growth-story
When Ahmedabad resident Harmin Shah moved to Mumbai last year, the AC at his rented apartment kept giving trouble. The local repairers couldn’t fix it because they aren’t equipped to keep up with the growing complexities and sophistication of electronic appliances. Shah had to seek help from an authorised professional which involved calling and listening to an annoying series of dialer notes before booking a visit and then waiting three days for help.

So now when the fridge decides it’s too cool to be cool on the day there is a party and a fridge full of drinks, you can go to Handyhome, select the appliance, brand, and sub-category (for example, single/double door) from a drop down menu and fill in personal details. Then you can schedule the service at a time that is convenient for you. The app also stores all the bills of electronic appliances.

“Finding an electronic repairer by asking neighbors, using the phone book, or googling them is so 2014. With HandyHome, it is a simple ‘click it to fix it’ theory which requires a smartphone and a couple of buttons,” says Harmin.

After a month of haggling with brands the founder realised that each call made in the service centre for a complain/request costs INR 20-25 (US$0.30) including salaries, and other overheads. The brands could save on these costs with the app and can also boost after sales revenue.

Google Maps Gets Real-Time Bus Information in India, Starting With Kolkata
Manish Singh, 24 July 2017
https://gadgets.ndtv.com/apps/news/google-maps-india-real-time-bus-information-kolkata-transit-1728521

The announcement, albeit only available in a select place, comes as Google continues to introduce new mapping capabilities to serve the local market. Earlier this month, Google Maps began to tell people the best time to travel to their usual destinations. Last month, Google began showing information for Mumbai metro trains on Maps. Late last year, Google also introduced a new feature in Google Maps that allows people in select regions in India to find public washrooms.

The new Google Transit feature, for which Google has partnered with West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC), will enable people in Kolkata to get real-time updated information for key WBTC transit routes, the company said, adding it intends to include other routes in the future. No word on how soon can we expect Maps to include real-time bus information of other regions in India, however.

Commuters in Kolkata will be able to get information such as when a bus to their desired destination will arrive at their stop, and how long the commute could take. People will also be able to check the arrival time for the next bus The new feature is available on both Android and iOS apps of Google Maps, and users can also find such information through a search on Google if they looked up for a particular bus stop, and tapped on the name and the listed bus numbers.

https://www.indiatoday.in/technology/features/story/indian-buses-are-never-on-time-so-google-is-trying-to-track-them-in-real-time-1050001-2017-09-22
Although tracking buses in real time in a city like London is fairly easy to do because the relevant data is available, in India it's not so simple. Most transport bodies don't even have the data that Google needs for real-time bus tracking.

Fortunately, this has beginning to change. "Earlier even the bus authorities didn't have capability to track the buses. But then they realised that it was in their own interest to put GPS in buses and track them," says a Google executive part of the Maps team in India.

We face increasing expectations from our users... We want the Maps to be relevant to you. Now we don't just want to map the world. We want to map your world

Among the agencies that track the buses in real-time is WBTC. And it sees the value in making that data available to Google Maps team. "By sharing the real-time transit information of our buses with Google Maps, we are striving to deliver an enhanced level of service for our commuters," said Narayan Swaroop Nigam, Managing Director of WBTC, as he announced the availability of the tracking service in July.

has improved the way it tracks temporary road closures -- "now in 3 to 4 hours Google knows if a road has been temporarily closed -- and has moved to add support for regional languages. The Maps now allows users to see the status of cab services like Ola, Uber and Meru and lets people compare fare.

Google has also gradually started adding more contextual information to the Maps. It now adds information related to a planned public celebrations that may disrupt traffic, such as Ganesha procession. Some people want to be part of public celebrations. They can now see the details of the celebrations in the Google Maps. Some people want to avoid traffic disruptions due to celebrations, they too can follow the Google Maps.

Then there are other bits of local information. Google Maps now shows the nearest toilet, which is part of the company's collaboration with government of India for Swachh Bharat mission. And of late it is showing meeting points for India-wide march that Nobel prize winner Kailash Satyarthi has launched to raise awareness against abuse and harassment of children.

The term disruptive innovation was coined by Joseph L. Bower and Clayton Christensen in 1995 and referred to the innovation-driven-growth. A disruptive innovative company is one which creates a new market or transforms an existing market and displaces established market leaders, products, and alliances by introducing simplicity, convenience, accessibility and affordability where complication and high cost are the existing state of affairs.

We’ve seen the rise of many disruptors like Uber, Airbnb, and Oyo which grew on capitalizing the basic needs, wants, and desires of the customers which were earlier ignored and unserved by the market leaders operating in these sectors for decades.

Revenue Model of Oyo Rooms

The revenue model of Oyo Rooms is simple.

Oyo Rooms books a part of the hotels’ inventory (expense) rather than taking up commission on sales.

These Rooms are offered to the customers at Oyo Rooms Website/Application

Freemium
++
The freemium model capitalizes on the zero price point paradox which states that to maximize participation, a zero price point can’t be a beat. However, people don’t value things they get for free. Therefore, to get people to value the product, they should pay something for it. This gave rise to the characteristic feature of freemium services – micropayments. A micropayment is a very small amount of payment you pay to buy specific services provided in the freemium business model.
https://www.feedough.com/freemium-business-model/

Freemium business model depends hugely on a business phenomenon known as the network effect. The network effect states that a good or service becomes more valuable when more people use it. Precisely, more the usage of the product or the service, more is its value. Tinder wouldn’t have been a revolutionary dating platform if it didn’t have users you can swipe right or left.

Decluttering Konmari folding method and others

On the other note, following the minimalistic principle, finally I have managed to declutter my office room. In the past, it had piles of papers, loads of unread books and Now only a few very essential ones are kept. Surely it gives a sense of relief and calmness.

Like lean manufacturing, Japan is also in the pioneer in lean lifestyle and decluttering. Konmari method by Marie Kondo is one such:

Best Simplicity and Organization Books:

Book decluttering rules::
My rule of thumb is simple: If it hasn’t been read in six months, it probably won’t ever be read.
https://www.becomingminimalist.com/breaking-the-sentimental-attachment-to-books/

Set aside one shelf of your book case as your “desert island” shelf. Most book lovers have books they know they will never let go of, no matter what. I call these “desert island” books – they are the books I’d want with me if I were stranded on a desert island, that I could read over and over again for the rest of my life. As you come across these books in your collection, add them to your shelf. Not only is it comforting to see those books being saved as you pare down others, you now have a physical boundary – you can have no more “desert island” books than will fit in this one space, so you are forced to think analytically about your collection.

Tiny Action: Clear off one shelf to keep as your “desert island” shelf. It can only hold one row of books – no double stacks or piles!
@@@ my idea is may be within a year not read, and textbooks nonfiction not required within 3 years, then discard. Besides one in, one out system.

@Clothing
One in, one out.
If not worn in a year, since season changes yearly basis, discard it.

When deciding what to discard, remember that the endgame isn’t to throw out or donate as much as possible, but to make sure that the things you hold onto make you happy. This is where picking up each item and asking, “does this spark joy?” comes in. It may sound like a hazy benchmark but with practice, it becomes an invaluable tool.

Sort and purge by category rather than by room. While your instinct may be to start in say, the kitchen, and then move onto the living room and so on, it’s best to pick a category (clothing, books, documents, etc…) and go from there. The reasoning is that similar items are likely scattered throughout the house, not confined to one room.

After discarding, designating a specific home for every single item you keep is critical in avoiding a clutter relapse. According to Kondo, fancy stackable storage solutions encourage hoarding, so simple and easy-to-use options are best. Ideally, it should be just as effortless to put something away as it is to locate it later.

KOnmari folding methods of clothing[see the video of folding:
Rather than haphazardly laying things flat in a drawer, they should stand upright; the more folds there are, the less wrinkled the item will be once ready for wear. While the space-saving benefits are pretty far-reaching, Kondo’s other objective is to grant clothes—everything from coats to sweaters to socks—the respect they deserve by touching, appreciating, and properly storing each item.

@@ When wrap keep one side one inch from opened side, then fold to make rectangle half way thing and round it like a roll.

@@@ things should not be piled rather you should be able to key folders at a glance. Plastics filers come in handy. However something you could not do upright, then ok keep them in several folders and stack them up.

Kondo says she has been obsessed with tidying since she was five, opting to arrange shoes and pencils while other kids played outside. She began communing with her belongings in high school and, after years of work at a Shinto shrine, realised her calling as a professional consultant on attaining the joy of minimalism.

“The inside of a house or apartment after decluttering has much in common with a Shinto shrine ... a place where there are no unnecessary things, and our thoughts become clear,” she says.

“It is the place where we appreciate all the things that support us. It is where we review and rethink about ourselves.”

Instead of deciding what to get rid of, she says, the focus should be on what to keep: which few things spark sufficient joy or are truly necessary.
https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/nov/27/top-tips-to-joyfully-declutter-your-home-from-marie-kondo

After joyfully relegating mountains of unneeded or unloved belongings to charity or the bin, she turns to organising what is left. The key, she says, is storing things mostly in drawers, arranged so everything can be seen at a glance and nothing is stacked, a practice decidedly unkind to items at the bottom.

So T-shirts and socks (the ones you’ve kept because they make you happy) are rolled and arranged beautifully, like sushi in a bento box. Cupboards are meticulously reorganised to fit everything from electric fans (at the bottom) to spare blankets (on top).

Papers and documents – there won’t be many since few are truly necessary and they generally hold so little joy – are likewise filed rather than stacked.

Toothbrush principle
++
Keep things where you use them

Store tea by the kettle, envelopes in your desk and the dog lead on a hook in the hall. If you abide by this rule, then you won’t have to frantically search for things again. It makes it easier to tidy them away afterwards, too.

In her book Banish Clutter Forever, decluttering queen Sheila Chandra calls this The Toothbrush Principle. Do you store your toothbrush by the sink, with the toothpaste? Of course you do. Now extend this principle to everything else in your house.

When store something give a cover.
If some thing like table top, you put something put all in one corner and rest keep empty Orr put all thing in a row or column, the rest rwo or column remain empty. Same goes to room design. Keep many sapece empty.
Whereever possible put green plant an d natural lighting available thorugh something.
There may be something for seasonal use like during wedding party, official dinner, witner dress. For such keep something exclusive seprarat. But if you don’t need to use them in a year, throw awa, actually you don’t need it.

Pull your furniture away from the wall.
Just a few inches. The room will feel larger. Trust us.
https://www.gq.com/story/new-rules-interior-design

Add Color To Unlikely Places,
Fewer things on the wall. Way fewer.

Organize 60 percent of books vertically and 40 percent horizontally on the shelves. This creates balance yet spontaneity (and shows off the back of the bookshelf if it’s lined with a decorative fabric). Stack horizontal books lower than vertical ones: If the vertical books are 12 inches tall, place three to four books horizontally up to four inches high. Add green plants to soften the bookshelf, but avoid flowers, which can look cluttered and distracting.
https://www.rd.com/home/cleaning-organizing/interior-decorator-tricks-free/

When choosing a color palette, assign 60 percent of the room a dominant color, 30 percent a secondary color, and 10 percent an accent color. In a classic room setting, this may translate to designating walls the dominant color, upholstery the secondary color, and a floral arrangement or pillows the accent color. If you have a nice view outside, frame it by painting the interior window trims a dark color.

Often, the most compelling part of a design is how the open space in a room is utilized in order to let it breathe and also to make the room appear more tasteful.

Try to create empty space
https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/your-homes-negative-space-what-it-is-and-how-to-use-it-to-your-advantage-203207

White space or negative space is simply unmarked space in the design. White space does not literally mean an empty space with a white background. It can be of any color, texture, patterns or even a background image.
“White Space in design composition is same as use of Silence in a musical composition. Without proportionate use of Silence, music is unstructured; some may call it noise. Similarly, without White Space, design is unstructured and difficult to consume”

Store all your office supplies in containers, drawers, baskets and bins. Putting all these supplies out of sight will give your office a decluttered look.

Organize your most important papers in binders for easy grab-and-go in case of an emergency. For example, if there was a medical emergency, you could grab your medical binder and have all the information you need immediately.
